If it's a disc, put it in your disc drive and then save it to the media player you use.
If you wish to purchase a cd from a place like Amazon but do not want the disc, then just click the download button after you make the purchase. A link should be sent to your e-mail which will take you to the download page. iTunes will send the download to your iTunes program.
