It is the nicest-designed smartwatch I’ve ever worn. It doesn’t look or feel like a multisport watch. It feels like, well, a watch – a TAG Heuer, specifically. link Not some contraption link that I could wear running, swimming, and biking (and get text messages while streaming music!). It has the substance and silhouette of a traditional TAG Heuer with the brains of an Apple Watch. link Which is effectively what it is: A glorified Apple Watch in Swiss clothing (powered by Google Wear OS).

Then I saw this photo and something happened. You can't even fully see the watch but that Jubilee link can be recognized a mile away. I realized that a watch has the ability to connect you to someone or someplace well beyond the present link moment whether that be Albert Santos Dumont flying his cloth airplanes or my parents at Fulton County Stadium watching the Atlanta Braves years before link they even knew my name.
