I don't know which system you have, but I have Windows 7, which has a Fax and Scan function. When I scan something and the scanner is on and hooked up to my computer, it appears in the scanned documents. From there, I can save it to a flash drive, drive and send it to a documents file. The item scanned can be given any name the system will take. I suggest you give it one that you can easily remember. .
