1 light year is the distance traveled by the light in 1 year through vacuum.

So, 1 light year = distance traveled by the light in 1 year

But, distance traveled = speed of light × time taken

     = 3 × 10 raised to the power 8 × 1 year

    But 1 year = 365 days = 365 × 24 hours = 365 × 24 × 60 minutes = 365 × 24 × 60 × 60 seconds

    So, 1 light year = 3 × 10 raised to the power 8 × 365 × 24 × 60 × 60

    i.e. 1 light year = 9.46 × 10 raised to the power 12 kilometer or 9.46 ×  10 raised to the power 15 meter [Approximate value]

Now share the above information with your friends too.
