Google is not a browser, its a search engine. Some names of browsers:
Internet Explorer
Safari (Apple)
Firefox
Opera
and a few others.
To make google your 'start page' go to options or preference and look for 'make this my home page' or something similar. Easiest way is to use your browser to go to google.com, THEN open preferences and select 'use current page'.
