    pitch is the frequency of vibration of the sound-producing item. Thus, a metal bar, if cut tothe proper length, may have a pitch of A above C; Key is the whole tonal scl starting at C and going up; a key may hve only one flat in the octave, or two sharpes in the octabve, for example
