Click on start, all programs and look for Firefox. Once you find it right click on it and scroll down to send to desktop create short cut.
As far as flash goes. Click here to download the latest flash player.
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Make sure you uncheck download Google Chrome unless you want the program.
