    Is Multiple Sclerosis hereditary?

    Recent research is leaning toward the theory that it could be genetic. Don't know the details yet but keep asking. I would certainly love to know what causes it but as yet there is no conclusive evidence that it is hereditry. Do you have MS?

    No, I do not. However, I have friends with the disease. Thank you for your response.

    While some people are still little shy to say it is hereditary, there are a few things that has been proven for instance, Chances of a person getting MS is O.1%. But if a child has a parent that has MS, they have about 2% chance of getting it. But if both parents have MS, the child has about 10% chance of getting it. This means that there are some links between the MS and persons parents. So in a way, it is hereditory.
