A newborn's vision is not clear because his/her eye muscles are weak and uncoordinated. So, even though the vision may be advanced enough to recognize shapes and contrasts, the uncoordinated eye muscles make it difficult to focus.

Hi Pamela they say they cant see colour for six weeks is this true! :-)
New borns can see but its blurred and really cant make shapes out not until later I think its about 6 weeks
