Yes they could, goldfish are carp, and they eat anything. Put a pinch in, ask them if they like it. If they eat it, they are saying "yes, more please!" In the wild, they live in tropical pools, and there is no boundary of where they or the other tropical fish eat, they are both competing for the same stuff...
