Shampoo your carpets with a carpet shampooer and after it is dry then use febreeze. Believe it or not, if you soak it with febreeze, that stuff works. I don't mean to leave it wet through, I just meant to use a good amount. Febreeze really gets the odor out. I have used it on pee odors in bathroom carpets from lazy boys and it took that out.
