    i paid in a cheque into my bank account today but the bank clerk has made an error my recipt is showing much more than what should be there what should i do and where do i stand legaly ?

    What do you mean where do you stand legally? Do you mean can you spend the money? NO! The bank will catch the error and remove the money. If the clerk had erred and not put enough into your account, would you allow the bank to keep the extra and spend it? No, you would go and have them give you the rest of your money. The money is not yours, call or go back to the bank and them know.
