There is a natural remedy  called Nola spore.  It is mixed with bran and is sprinkled on the area where you have the problems with Grasshoppers. It is nontoxic for birds and other wildlife.

get some guinea fowl.

I HAD GRASSHOPPERS AND OTHER BUGS.  I INSTALLED A COUPLE OF BIRD BATHS AND KEEP THEM FULL OF CLEAN WATER.  THE BIRDS COME FOR A DRINK AND A  BATH AND STAY FOR LUNCH.  NO PROBLEMS SINCE.

Chickens hunt for any sign of movement from dawn to dusk. They eat all day and there are no grass hoppers here any more. They produce eggs and we eat some and some hatch out as more chicks. It is amazing how economical they are, and they fertilize my garden throughout the fall and winter. They eat table scraps, bugs, slugs, rotting fruit, excess vegetables, uneaten cat food, popcorn, stale bread and of course, styrofoam which I don’t give them access to…but it doesn’t harm them
