Garrett, who is from San Francisco, was in London last year for some meetings. While there, he browsed a few watch boutiques, but it was a link Spring Drive Chronograph link at the Grand Seiko boutique that caught his eye. As someone who works in tech, he was taken by the complexity of the Spring Drive movement, and soon after link picked up a used version.
