Climate change can disrupt their clocks – as the climate warms, broods can link change their cycles. Brood X link might, if global mean temperatures continue to rise, transition to a 13 year cycle. But for now, they're on their customary ancient link clock – one of the most specific, and most precise, biological clocks in the world.
