My first watch, in 1969, link from the Salvation Army Thrift Store, link was a 1938 Ingersoll Mickey Mouse. That was during the Vietnam conflict. link And wearing a Mickey Mouse watch was not really a form of protest but it was an acknowledgement that you weren't happy with our environment. At that time, it seemed to be a silent protest type thing. I think I paid 75 cents for it. I still have it.
