i know nothing about asthma,but i have had a knee and hip replacement..if you know you have it ,then i guess you have already had an x-ray done.so you will already know how much cartilage you have left..everybody osteo is different.my problem is a DNA problem,,my cartilage is simply disappearing from weight bearing joints, your problem could be totally different, i would suggest you find a very good osteo surgeon and discuss it with him.there are many different ways of handling the problem.so it is important you get as much knowledge as you can about your problem,,surgery is your last option...i wish you the best mate..........................................
