Because not all Americans are Christians. I believe in God but worship no idol because I do not think of God as a man or in the man form. I believe God is light only with no shape or form. I am not Christian.

It's not just American that worships idols in this world, I've seen Hindu people worship pink elephant and the Catholic preying too statues ext.

Jesus also said men will always sin until the end of the world. Also, the devil doesn't want us to believe in God, so he will try to make us believe in idols.

the question presupposes  a depth of ignorance unfathomable...first America doesn'tworship anything-it's a place...jesus was another guy , which perhaps the questioner "worships"???
