Overflow is usually caused by a stuck-open valve, and the cold water valve usually the culprit .Could be mechanical , or electrical.Start the washer filling then turn the timer off by pushing the nob in.If the filling continues pull washer plug if filling continues with the washer unpluged .You have a mechanical fault , nearly always a stuck -valve.Replace the valve,if how ever if it stops when you unplug the machine .You have a electrical fault. need a pro. good luck.
