People, including white people, lose the oxygen in their blood which makes blood red, and therefore, when one passes away the blood looks blue without the oxygen. After a prolonged period of death your skin turns dark, more like a dark brown leather. Some mummies who were mummified do have blackish skin b/c of what was used to keep it from decomposing.
