If you're single, have you applied for welfare and child benefits? You should be able to apply for low income housing also but you may be put on a list and have to wait a while. Will you eventually be able to get a job? If you are not qualified for a lot of different jobs, while you recover you could check with the employment office as they sometimes offer job training so you can expand your employment field. You could take some courses if your injuries allow for you to sit for periods at a time.

Try contacting the social security office...you may be eligible for SSI or if your injury is expected to be permanent you may qualify for SSDI (disability) with the help of your physician and a lawyer. If y ou were injured on a job, have you checked into collecting workmen's compensation....also would not hurt to contact your church if you have one ,for assistance as they may be able to refer you to some form of help for your situation...also contact your local food stamp program in your area as they can also assist...good luck...don't despair...you just have to be diligent
