Okra sold from our local Halal shop is tagged as Bhindi. It is also well known as Lady's Finger here in the UK.

Metamucil or other fiber supplement should be fine.

Okra is a tropical plant with green seed pods eaten as a vegetable - get in supermarket if they have it or greengrocers.Also drink lots of fluids to soften faeces.

I get okra from supermarkets here in Los Angeles, California.  It is a product from Gutamala.  Go to a nearby supermarket and ask for it.  It is in a 1-pound packet in the freezer. 

You can also use okra to prepare soup with other ingredients such as celery, tomato, onion, chicken meet (or pork), garlic and ginger.  Everyone in the family can enjoy it.
