If I was looking for a dog, I would go to the humane society. There are many dogs looking  for a good home. The people at the humane society would know which one would be best with children. Please give one a chance in life. So many are beeing put to sleep, while people overbreed pure bred dogs, who most of the time have many healthproblems. Please, just consider it.. You can save one life.

YEs they are protective too. More playful than a german sheperd. But they do often suffer from hip displasia. AS well as shedding of the under coat. Frequent bathing a raking of the under coat will help.

Jack Russles are on the smaller side of medium... But the are extremely smart easy to train and hearty. The are tough!!!! Down sides...... They are scared of thunder and storms. And the shed. Keep then shaved down and that will aide with the shedding issue and just letting them know you are there will help with the storms.
