A new cancer site or secondary growth.

Cells from malignant tumors can detach themselves from the primary tumor site, penetrate a blood vessel or lymphatic vessel, travel through the bloodstream, lymphatic system, and establish a new tumor site at a distant tissue, such as the lung, liver, or bone marrow. The secondary growth  is called a METASTASIS.   I know this is not something you want to hear, but I hope this helps you to understand a bit better what is happening with the cancer.
