Polymialgia rheumatica is an inflammatory syndrome characterized by severe pain and stiffness in the arms and legs.

The symtoms of Polymalgia rheumatica (PRM) are aching and stiffness around the upper arms, neck, lower back and thighs.  They tend to develop quick, over a period of several days or weeks, and occasionally even overnight.  The cause of PRM is unknown.  It does not arise from the side effects of medications.
