I personally was in an induced coma for six and a half months more than 20yrs ago and I remember waking up and thinking "jeeeeezzzz!!!! That must have been some party last night"?

I couldn't remember a thing about the previous 7 months, and still can't.

Wow! that's something glad you are still with us!!

They sleep dreamlessly.  However, many people coming out of comatose can remember conversations taking place in a room with them, this is why you never want to say anything in the presence of a person in a coma, they sometimes remember.  I remember my father was in a coma, my sister and I was in the room with him and she was talking about a friend of hers that had come down with cancer, when she said that word 'cancer' he jumped, looked right at us and seems very startled.  Although when he came out of it, he never mentioned it but they do hear!
