      Christopher Columbus "discovered" America in 1492. Christopher always claimed that he reached Asia, not a new land.

        How many times do you people have to be told NOBODY DISCOVERED AMERICA America is the name given to that area of land including north,south and central America.

        Poor old Chris found a lump of land which was eventualy called America.

          G'day Peoplelover, actually colombo not only did he not set foot in the Americas, he did not see it as well . He only got as far as Haiti. I would like to know who wrote the American history.--- was that a little harsh.
