I had the exact same problem when I raised dogs. They ate pretty well but as soon as I would throw in a bucket of steak-bones, they would all be at each others throat and I'd have to haul a few off to the vets for a few days. The vet told me to cut their rations and feed them only that dry-bland cheap stuff. So I followed his instructions and stopped giving them all those treats. Pretty soon they were hunting better and were more active throughout the season on less fancy food and just treating them like dogs. Congress and Senate have the same problem and I think it should be a crime for us to allow those dogs to get fat and mean.
