With a name like Kettle probably from Ma & Pa Kettle somewhere in the southern United Staes.

To Ma and Pa Kettle. You should type  " origin of sur names "  in your search box. That's what I did to find where my and some of my friends' families originated from

Try "Ancestry.com" and see what you can find out.  You can also "Google" your surname (origin surname Kettle) and see if it has been researched.  My friend just provided a DNA sample for Ancestry.com.  Her sister is researching their genetic/ethnic origins. She had to supply about 1/4 teaspoon of saliva (not counting "bubbles"). She added some blue liquid to it, shook it up, put it in a bag, sealed it, put it in the postage-paid, pre-addressed box, sealed that, and into the mail it goes.  It will be interesting to find out if there are any surprises!
