Black tea does have caffeine in it but it is substantially less than coffee. Since you are not suppose to be in taking caffeine though, I would suggest limiting the tea to a cup or 2 per day. Check with your doctor though as I do not have a medical background and I do not know if you are suppose to be avoiding caffeine all together.
