Colleen, The reason I know it is a hernia is "I am assuming" that it is. I recently, 6 months ago, had 2 ft of colon removed. While that incision was healing I had a pretty bad allergy cough and I soon began experiencing searing tears to the right of my belly button. Now, I have a large bulge in that area that I can push the bulge back down through a hole, but then it comes right back out of that hole. Today I was laying down and as I got up there was a large bulge about the size of a baseball..it went back down inside on its own.
