it's a person or persons whose country is under siege from a foreign country ; and they 're trying to fight back and get the invaders out...........like when the U.S. invaded Iraq and laid waist to that country. The residents were trying to fight back and take their country back and were called ........" insurgents "  or   " the insurgency "
