Most of the translations I have read mean to respect God. If you love me you will keep My commandments. Keeping His teachings in your heart and head. If you live at your parents house, you follow their rules, I don't think you do it out of fear as much as out of respect. This is more of the intent of the word FEAR.

Fear of the LORD is not as we think of as natural fear. Here's an example the Jews felt such deep respect and awe that for many year's that would not speak HIS name aloud and Solomon wrote fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom! fear of the LORD is to the show great love and respect to him!!!!

Thank you for the thumb ups
It is something like being awed at His power, ability, nature and characteristics.
It was used in a time of great darkness (ignorance) another metaphor. Meaning standing in "AWE" of God - when one discovers Him within. For one having found the GOOD, will one happily obey the laws of Joy. Let him hear it who can. Let him receive it who can. ;)
"I THINK WE OUGHT TO HAVE AS GREAT A REGARD FOR RELIGION AS WE CAN, SO AS TO KEEP OUT OF AS MANY THINGS AS WE CAN!"
Jehu, I see you're back to SHOUTING again. That means using capital letters. Since you don't know the meaning of capital letters, shouting or cap lock or upper case, I will show you 3 examples, one of which "is not like the other". The one that looks different, is the one that you should try emulating in terms of looks.

1- JEHU ACTS LIKE A MORON

2- JEHU ACTS LIKE A MORON

    3- Jehu is a moron

    Hope this helps. Good luck.
