    why do bee stay outsidethe super?

    You generally see honey bees outside of the hive when they are getting ready to swarm (divide the hive to another location because another queen has hatched and is ready to take-off).  ABC&XYZ of BeeKeeping is great on the subject....I read it 60 years ago and modern books are possibly more telling.

    My grandfather had bees for several years. I don't know why, but one summer they all disappeared. Perhaps the queen died so they moved house.
