Some athletes use it to put back electrolytes and to keep from getting cramps.

In the days prior to refrigeration people still had to rely on some vitamins to prevent them from getting diseases from vitamin deficiencies, especially from traveling in ships for months.  Under that kind of scenario, pickled juice, though not rich in Vitamin C, could provide enough in order that humans could sustain life until such time fresh juices or fruits could be had.

I am sure people don't drink as much pickled juice, if any.  All fruits and juices can be refrigerated, hence, there's no need for such product.

Pickle juice is the liquid substance used to give cucumbers their salty, sour taste. It is usually made of water, salt, calcium chloride and vinegar (acetic acid), and occasionally contains flavorings like dill or “bread and butter”  scientifically the jury is still out..

Pickle juice is vinegar, which will destroy vitamins in the vegetables from which it is made, so I don't think there is much nutritional  value in it.

Yep and so are the pickles.
