Zip drive is a medium capacity disk storage system, or a disk writer. It could write data onto floppy disks, for instance. A flash drive is a flash memory data storage system and it is plugged in through USB ports (namely, the USB memory stick). A flash driver is newer, faster, smaller, and holds more data than the zip drive, which can only write onto disks not even store the data.
