The oldest living person in the United States (and in the world) is Besse Cooper. She is 114 years old and she was born on August 26, 1896 in Sullivan county, Tennessee. She turns 115 in a couple of weeks. Amazingly she is the longest-lived person born in the year 1896, and one of the only two living persons in the world who were born in the year 1896.
