To bookmark a page, go to the page you want to bookmark and:
In Safari - click the + symbol next to the url.
In Firefox - click the star symbol next to the url.
In IE9 - if you don't have a bookmarks toolbar in view yet: click the tabbed area on your browser > check the favorites toolbar option. No you have a favorites toolbar. To add a bookmark to it, click the star icon on the top right corner.
