      I have always heard that dogwood trees if they are even scrapped or skined a little it will make them die. Do not know if that is true or not, but I hope you can save them dogwood trees are very beautiful and have a beautiful meaning to them.

        It is my understanding that the reason we are losing the dogwoods here is the environmental changes to the weather here has changed so much they are no longer thriving as normal.
