      Size!!!  LOL!  350 valve covers are rectangular, big block valve covers are more contoured -- second obvious difference.  You got a 454, there's not a whole lot of room in that engine bay, 350 you can see the driveway underneath the car looking top down.  :) And the sound!!  OUCH!!

          Look at the valve covers, 350 rectangular, 454 contoured-- Rounded. All GM big blocks have that cover.
