Kind of an old obsolete name for a forum. The term "Chat room' is rarely used anymore. Now you have instant messaging and forums, where the old BB and chatrooms were real time forums are not, meaning as this one, nobody can see how slow you type or spelling mistakes you make unless of course you don't care and hit the 'post' or enter button. The old BBs and chatrooms your receiving party could see exactly as you type at the same time.
