The earth many years ago was hit by a meteor, a chunk of the earth  came off in bits and they orbited arond the earth, after a millenium or two the bits of rock melded together and formed the moon, thus the moon is originally part of the earth. Idon't know if this true, i saw it on the Discovery channel.

Could have. Man really has no clue how old this planet or this solar system is.

How long ago, go back far enough and i would think it had many moons, but even my old grandad can only go back so far...and even then he still aint sure.
