      Let the pot build up enough pressure  to start a steady  stream of steam put the the bob on and wait till is starts to rock, turn the heat down so that its a slow gentle rock, when the time is up turn off the heat and walk away... wait till it stops moving, then take the bob off and let the rest of the steam escape then you can open the pot up . Do not attempt to open it before all the steam has escaped.

        Sorry wish I could help you out there......I was always scared of the darned thing I saw my Mom shoot that spinning thing on top to the roof too many times guess it traumatized me maybe why I am allergic to cooking now hmmmmm......
