    Jackson & perkins have container roses does that mean you have to raise in a container?

    The term "container rose" simply means that the roses are being shipped in containers versus the bare root roses J P ships in the spring. The roses do not have to be grown in containers (some could be) or they could be planted directly into the garden.

    Some of their roses are meant to be raised in pots because they are not hardy and would do better being put somewhere protected in cold weather. The ones that look like trees (standards) are for patios etc. and need to be protected.
