According to the Holy Bible, Satan was originally one of God's angels you dared to try and take over heaven. Can you imagine trying to dethrone God? Anyway, let's just say that God was not having all this and ended up casting him out of the kingdom into hell, this action created hell too. The Bible can explain all this in greater detail, you should read up on this if you have an interest in it. I am not a religious person by no means but the Bible can be very interesting reading and is a great source for information about life. Don't worry about understanding all the whereas and thou shalts; the Bible as we know it has been translated so many times over the years that it can be difficult reading but in the end, you will understand it's personal message for you.
