    How to remove adhesive holding mantle to marble fire surround, I need to get at fixings

    I have acquired a second-hand marble fireplace, but to enable me to fix it to my wall, I need to take the mantle off, so that I can get at fixings on the side legs,enabling me to screw them to the wall.  I cant do it with the mantle in place.  Alternatively has anyone any ideas?

      You might need to resort to something to pry it apart from the marble, a wedge of sorts and hammer. Not sure that the mantle won't suffer unless you're very careful.
