    what are the critical control points in the synthesis of glucose to lactate

    i think you mean how is glucose metabolized. if it is metabolized in the presence of oxygen(aerobic) the end products are water and carbon dioxide. if it is metabolized without oxygen(anaerobic), then the end product is lactic acid. the energy cycle is called the krebs cycle.
