Church is always a good place to start. I think people with good hearts are the ones who do volunteer work such as the Humane Society or Meals for the Elderly. So if you have spare some time on your hands to do volunteer work, then you may meet a good person here. A bunch of people meet their (future) spouse at bars (as have I) but I don't recommend bars as a first choice to meet people.
