    how often should my dog have a bowel movement?

    My female black lab was and is still sick I am supposed to make sure she's pooping regular but the vet didn't tell me whats regular for a dog I was thinking once a day??

      A normal dog will want to eliminate within one hour of each meal he is served each day. It is better to feed a dog twice a day rather than only once a day.

        it depends on what dog food you are feeding,ie, some of the cheep food will go through faster...a dogs intestinal track is short, not like a humans. this will reault in frequent and almost immedate need to go. the better the dog food, the long it takes to absorb the food, more of the food that is absorb the less is turned to waste, thus fewer trips outside,and a healthier dog.
