Yes. Obama can not stop the checks. The SS system is computerized and automated. It would take a complete program change to keep the checks from going out and it would take about a year to reset the program. He's putting out a bogus scare.

I highly doubt that any politicians would let that happen, if it did it would mean the end of their political careers. Don't you worry about that, SS will be around for a long time to come. The elderly have the highest turn out rate at the polls on election day, any politician messing up SS could kiss their careers goodbye.

If Obama can stop them and blame it on republicans he will, but I don't believe he can.
